(68,352 posts)briefly shared a tarmac. But we do need to try to enact laws that will stop a president from controlling justice...assuming we get the Senate. The imperial presidency is a threat to our Republic.

(17,781 posts)I detest executive clemency. The only good thing the orange blob has done is he's shown us everything that's wrong with presidential power. Tradition and etiquette are no way to rein in a rogue executive. Our Constitution needs some work. A whole lot of work.

(35,692 posts)The concept of pardoning for uncharged crimes is really unethical it seems to me. How does the person giving the pardon know what all of the crimes are? It seems to me that this is a flaw in the pardon process.

(51,432 posts)to even start to make up this misjustice. I want the states to throw the book at them and I want the final sentencing to be the maximum allowed for such crimes.

(9,670 posts)Fucking Senate should have sent him packing in February. Then none of this pardon shit would even be an issue now.
And God knows Pence wouldn't be much better, but surely he wouldn't have punted on COVID like Trump did.
