(4,507 posts)Maybe another night.
Tonight, I can't be asked again to give MORE by a campaign that couldn't prepare for the obvious (OF COURSE Romney was going to make up his positions tonight) with the simplest response to pin Romney to the wall (go to barackobama.com and see that what he just said is completely different from what he said six days ago).
Believe it or not, I had this stroke of unfathomable genius prepared days ago. It's true.
Here's why I am so aggravated:
Obama had the chance to be the tide to lift all boats. Stomp Romney out tonight, and we roll in November.
We don't need a dogfight into the last days of the campaign.
We had a blowout freaking gift-wrapped and these guys couldn't do the simplest thing on the planet.
I've already supported this campaign again and again and again despite the fact that this administration has been savagely awful for animals in this country and everything else they've fallen short on.
Tonight, they can call someone else.
If I give until it hurts, I expect you to fight for me. I don't think that's too much to expect.
But please, I encourage the rest of you to give. For tonight, I feel like I've bled enough for someone who can't crease his suit.

(20,776 posts)If you can't, you can't and guess what?? I am willing to kick in another 35 dollars just for you...

(4,507 posts)and thank you.
I'm no less desperate for a win and as many other wins as we can have in November.
I just believe there are very polite ways to point out when a liar is lying and when you have an opponent with a credibility problem, pointing out his tap dancing feet just cannot be a bad move in my world.
Having witnessed the campaign firsthand last time around, I think the "campaign wizardry" meme is overblown. There were many things that were done well, but words can hardly describe the dumpster fire that was the McCain campaign.
I'll get over this eventually, but I am mad as a rattlesnake tonight.
Romney should have been tipped over the side and overboard tonight, imo.
I am also getting really sick of being asked for 3 dollars to celebrate Obama walking and chewing gum or whatever the latest email covers.
I was considering asking for a 60 day extension on my final law school paper so I could drop everything and devote myself fully to the campaign. But you've got to give me some fight to earn the kind of sacrifice I'm willing to make for the good of this country and this world.

(4,507 posts)I just also wish in a post-Citizens United universe the campaign wasn't relying on reaching voters after a debate.

(20,776 posts)candidate we should support him/her all the time! I would help out with the campaign personally, however I have been given the opportunity to use more of my time helping Disabled veterans, which to me is kind of important. Still can donate though...and its better than doing nothing at all.
You are most welcome!
