So I'm not going to go automatically to "Blame Israel" or automatic "Blame the US," heck, it's possible it could be Russian based.

Slow Death by poisoning...or worse, survival. Yes.
Blatant attack. Nope.
Anti-Theocracy movement, disillusioned political dissidents, etc. elements in Iran with support from who knows where, yeah, I can see that.
