Guess I'll just have to wait to test out my new meat thermometer.

(7,565 posts)And also for the laughter that ensued because of that hilarious thread.
I haven't laughed like that or enjoyed life since having to euthanize my beloved cat only days ago. I truly needed that release from my grief.
Thank you, Nevilledog.

(17,414 posts)I'm very sorry about your cat. I understand how you are feeling...I've had to have 3 beloved dogs euthanized. It's been awhile, but I still tear up when thinking about it. I understand the love for an animal.
I've held each one as they passed, and I sobbed afterwards. I told my vet that it is harder sometimes to go through this than to go the the passing of a human loved one. She explained to me that a lot of her clients say the same thing, and the reasons for this are:
1) Pets love you with no conditions
2) They depend on you for everything
What I will say to you now is...you gave your cat a wonderful life, your cat is not suffering now, your cat still remains in your heart and always will, and I believe in the Rainbow bridge.
I hope that your good memories comfort you.

(7,565 posts)I'm sorry to hear that you had to have 3 beloved dogs euthanized. It is the most difficult undertaking about having a family pet, knowing when to end their suffering. We were with him when it was time to let him go.
I wasn't expecting the dynamics in the house to change, but it has. Our female cat has taken upon herself to do all things that was on his daily to do list. For example, she never use to cat call in the early morning hours, and now she does. It started the day that we brought his cremations home.
You're comforting thoughts, wisdom and hugs are much appreciated.
