1. Add the B-52s and things start to stink.
They may see it as their last best chance to start a war with Iran.

2. My thoughts also,
Pompeo went to the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Israel for a reason. Iran isn't Iraq, it will be prepared to defend itself.

5. Iran has one of the biggest militaries in the ME
when it comes to troops. We DO NOT need to get involved in this.

4. I can't imagine the military leaders of either Israel or Saudi Arabia would condone a hot war
Even a joint alliance (and how many Osama Bin Laden clones are deeply buried within the Saudi Military?) would know that Iran has twice their populations combined. Iran's bases are spread out, and much of their antiquated US-made equipment has been replaced. It might not be on a par with the latest stuff we have sold the Israelis and the Saudis, but Geography is on their side.
All three countries have their dissenting minorities, but I think Iran's minority Azeris and Assyrians (the Kurds maybe less so) would fight alongside the Persians against an invader, especially if said invader was an unholy (to them) alliance of Sunnis and Jews. If Netanyahu and bin Salman are pragmatists, they'll keep the real cooperation to economic cooperation, something with which they'll have Iran eating out of their hand within ten years, and not looking for revenge within two. |
