1. Georgia are you listening?
You have the power to make Mitch McConnell an irrelevant piece of shit, instead of the all-powerful piece of shit who screws over anyone who isn't a millionaire...

4. You must not have a very good understanding about how the Senate works.
If the Democrats get 50 votes in the Senate then Vice President Harris will have to be on call constantly to break tie votes. And Mitch will be minority leader. And due to the way the Senate is set up minorities have quite a bit of power and so do minority leaders. He will not be irrelevant, unfortunately.

5. Then it will be up to the Democratic Majority Leader to rein Moscow Mitch in.
It's way past time to play hardball with the likes of Moscow Mitch.

7. Lets win those two elections in Georgia first then we can talk about strategy.
And the flip side to my previous comment also applies. If the Repugs do win at least one seat in Georgia they will have a razor thin majority as well and just one or two defections on important votes would sink them. But regardless of how the votes in Georgia turn out, I don't think we will see any major changes such as packing the Supreme Court or eliminating the filibuster. The Senate will be too closely divided.

11. If minority leaders have a LOT of power then why haven't Democratic House members
been able to get anything done in the last 4 years without obstruction? I very much doubt VP Harris will have a problem arranging her schedule to break a tie in the favor of Democracy, do you?

17. This is a good article on the topic.
A capable Senate minority leader who is opposed to the president can cause a lot of problems for that president,

19. So what happened here? From the article
A capable Senate minority leader who is opposed to the president can cause a lot of problems for that president, says Rebecca Katz, who served as a top aide to former Senate majority leader Harry Reid. A capable Senate majority leader can stop almost anything. |

6. do it!!
the vice president is the president of the senate. kamala harris can impose her will on, for example, what the senate votes on. piece of shit mc asshole does not bring things to a vote. we won't win the votes but get them on the record. harris can make that happen as i understand it. so mc asshole still have some power but in a 50-50 senate his power is greatly reduced. fuck republicans. when they go low......take the high road AND LOSE or play the way they play. and while you're at it, reduce the supreme court's jurisdiction. the power of congress to do that is in the constitution. dems--grow a spine. do these things or let traitors continue to fuck us over.

8. It will be hard to make major changes like that in a 50-50 Senate.
Vice President Harris would have to be constantly on call to break tie votes, and even one defection from the Democratic ranks could sink them. Plus, we have to win those two seats in Georgia first.

10. Agreed. The GOP do not play by rules.
This is how they "set" precedent. They will continue to roll the Dems over hot coals because the Dems are handcuffed to their "high road" rules. We need a few fighters to surprise them with hard tactics that don't follow rules.
