To hope for anything else and chase after their support is a fools errand.

Nixon, Ailes, and Buchanan wanted to launch GOPTv to put out the conservative view point. Lewis Powell also put out his memorandum in 1971 which laid the blueprint for conservative dominance over the coming decades.

Reagan was an effective pitch man, but by no means was he the architect.

4. Weren't we divided from the begining? Industrial North and Ag south... From what I have read

that's how the electoral college came about to even out the states effect on government. The low population south feared the north would always out vote them so the powers that be at the time came up with the electorial college idea..YMMV
