Ha!

I mean there were some good ones, Win95, WinXP, Windows 7, but there were the times of bloatware, and horrible Windows ME, Vista, and Win8! Win10 is better but the spyware and automatic updates is a bitch.

Other than that, he's a pretty great human being.

Speaking of Windows Vista, there's a really funny scene in "The IT Crowd" where it's mentioned...

"We're all going to die!"

18. Windows 10 is only good because it's a lot like Win7

But it has a lot of spyware sent back to MS.

AND it has automatic updates.

For a long time, I actually turned off my Win7 updates while MS was tying to force WIN10 on people. That was just evil.

And yeah, my main desktop is win7 and I still love it.

I do have a couple of Win10 laptops but I consider my win7 desktop my main base, in some ways.

Oh well.

The modern Microsoft is very different, but Gates was quite ruthless in some ugly ways.

But now he has done great work as a philanthropist, and this is to be lauded.

We lived in Redmond when Sammamish was Redmond. Everybody I know has made money off of Microsoft one way or another. Mr bear is in software so we’re adjacent.

But a shark is a shark, not evil.

Gates has evolved considerably since then.

Now Steve Jobs... he really did suck. Didn't live long enough to see the light.

Nevertheless, there's still no way in hell I will use Microsoft or Apple products unless someone is paying me.

That's my own secret sin. That I'll do it for money.

He’s a different guy today IMO. Wisdom often comes with age. And he seems like he’s had some positive influences on his life. Even though I can’t stand him now, I’m hoping Musk moderates his weirdo libertarian Bond villain thing as he ages. He’s got a lot of work to do.

He is not perfect. But the combination of his extreme intelligence and relentless study produces superior insights. I think his wife deserves a lot of credit for teaching him how to play better with others.
