WASHINGTON--In a scene that shocked many onlookers, Donald J. Trump killed the White House turkey after it refused to acknowledge widespread voter fraud. Trump, who seemed to be conducting some sort of loyalty test with the turkey, demanded to know whether the bird agreed that thousands of votes had been illegally cast in the 2020 election, and became enraged when the fowl merely pecked at the ground. On Capitol Hill, Trumps murder of the turkey received widespread support from congressional Republicans, with Sen. Lindsey Graham commenting, If I had been there, I would have wrung its neck myself.

At times, it's hard to tell, at the beginning of a piece, if it's satire or "straight."
