Watching my species die in real time
It's kind of amusing, you know? The way discussions about honesty and reality get buried. The universe is indifferent, in case you didn't know.

1. I would join you due to my
Strong underlying cynicism (gen x’er here), but I have a nine year old and gotta try to keep the hope alive. No need to ruin her childhood just yet.

2. since as a species, we appear too stupid to control our own growth and resource management.
nature is thinning the herd for us.
this will continue until equilibrium is found. |

3. My view
exactly.
Frankly, I see a lot of what is going on now as the unconscious suicidal impulse writ large. I suspect there is a latent control mechanism written into the human psyche/genetic code (how ever one prefers to frame it) that kicks in once real world limits are reached...and we reached them a while ago. |

6. Sadly,
we are slaves to the limbic system...especially Trumpers...and fanatics of any kind, for that matter.
It's a shame as we have the CAPACITY for higher-order thinking and forethought, but reading Buckminster Fuler is not nearly as fun for the reptilian brain as watching Jerry Springer (or whatever the big new brain-killing phenom is these days). And so it goes... |

8. LOL - Who says? I own the challenge T-shirt: What would Bucky do? n/t
Also, considering owning some fullerene-laden shungite rocks too for all its anecdotal protective properties; trouble is, though, the authentic stuff has only been found and mined in Russia. https://www.healthline.com/health/shungite
One viewing of Jerry sent my limbics over the cliff, i.e., WTF is wrong with people! |

4. We may end up in the great trash bin of history...ultimately.
It’s possible we will not have the collective brainpower to think out way out of extinction.
But, in the meantime, we can control how we live, we give credence to epistemology, science, an evidence-based decision process. If we go out, well all go out trying With our finger on the trigger And our head in a book So you know that we tried If it’s the end of the world You’ll know I’m trying ‘Cause this world Is all that we got. If the city’s on fire I’ll stand in the ashes And teach what went wrong To move forward as one Once again There’s no turning back It’s ready or not So I’ll rise from my knees And educate masses ‘Cause this world Is all that we got ‘Cause this world Is all that we got I’m going down fighting I’m going down fighting With my fist to the wall, like a cannonball I’m gonna take ‘em all out, gonna take ‘em all Going down fighting I will run, i will crawl Gonna take ‘em all on Credit Phlotilla We may go out one day. But that day is not today. Tomorrow’s not looking good, either. |
