Trump's promoting Newsmax this morning, retweeting Twitter users with few followers

who are announcing they're switching from Fox News to Newsmax.

I've seen a couple mentions of OANN as another alternative to Fox, too, but most of the tweets are about Newsmax.

Editing to add a Brian Stelter Twitter thread and CNN story about what's going on:

The thread starts with this tweet:

Based on my MIL's viewing history, Newsmax TV definitely seems to be getting more attention than Fox Tommy_Carcetti Nov 2020 #4
Maybe Newsmax is the network he's set his sights on. Mike 03 Nov 2020 #5

I honestly had no idea that Newsmax TV existed until about a month or two ago, and it's located on the far, far reaches of our cable offerings (quadruple digits).

I haven't checked in on Newsmax for years, but it used to be an inconceivably ugly network, with the sets looking like they were tossed up under time pressure in somebody's residence. Their sets made the Home Shopping Network look like a James Cameron set.

I hope Trump sinks his money into that network. It's going to be a disaster.
