Trump insists he’ll win, but aides say he has no real plan to overturn results and talks of 2024 run

President Trump declared Wednesday on Twitter, “WE WILL WIN!”

But, in fact, the president has no clear endgame to actually win the election — and, in an indication he may be starting to come to terms with his loss, he is talking privately about running again in 2024.

Trump aides, advisers and allies said there is no grand strategy to reverse the election results, which show President-elect Joe Biden with a majority of electoral college votes, as well as a 5 million-vote lead in the national popular vote.

Asked about Trump’s ultimate plan, one senior administration official chuckled and said, “You’re giving everybody way too much credit right now.”

Republican officials have scrambled nationwide to produce evidence of widespread voter fraud that could bolster the Trump campaign’s legal challenges, but no such evidence has surfaced. And Biden’s lead in several states targeted by the Trump campaign has expanded as late-counted votes are reported. In all-important Pennsylvania, the Democrat now leads by more than 50,000 votes.

1. He’ll be 78. His health is likely to be worse.
2. He might have Republican challengers. Little Marco, Lyin’ Ted and Low Energy Jeb might run too and this time he’ll have his record to run against.
3. He’ll also be running against Joe Biden’s record which I can’t imagine would be worse than Trump’s presidency.
4. He might be in jail.

Yeah waste your money again. If you can!

i'm willing to bet his one of ugly spawn or creepy SIL Jared will attempt to run in 2024. I wouldn't be surrpised that GOP would be so desperate they'll want to front another trump.

Would there be primary challengers in 2024? The MAGAts are so rabid IMHO that they would be outraged by the mere competition. Would Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, and/or Tom Cotton risk future runs by pissing off Trumpers by the mere democratic process of primaries?

If he runs in 2024, his biggest motivation might be to grift off the campaign donations. He won't waste money doing it, he'll make money doing it.

with vague hints and suggestions that she would run for president in 2012. She did pretty well for herself with that - they watched her crappy TV shows and appearances, they bought her lame ghostwritten books, they sent money to her PAC, and so on. However, Trump is much more experienced in the art of the grift than she was or ever will be. He'll be raking it in for sure.

What is the ulterior motive is the first thing that comes to my mind when a Republican opens their mouth.

Stay vigilant.

Luckily Joe and his team planned for nonsense like Clustertrump is throwing and to account for the drastic understaffing in the current White House.

does think he'll run again, I doubt he'll make it to 2024.

If he goes to prison, we might see whether it's true that surviving covid gives you immunity from future exposures. But by the time that 4 years pass, he'll either be in such a deep state of dementia that he won't even know what country he's in, or he'll be dead from lung or heart damage caused by his bout with covid. Either one is ok with me, but I lean toward dead from covid after effects. We'd all enjoy another occasion for dancing in the streets.
