The silver bullet to destroy Mitt Romney in the debate?

The facts.

The Republican Party has been living in a bubble for a long, long time. George W Bush? Never heard of him. Economy on verge of collapse? Never heard about that. Trickle-down tax cuts and job creation? Still works like magic. Ronald Reagan? God.

Barack Obama does not need any zingers to counter Mitt Romney and the Republicans. All he needs are the facts at his fingertips. Memorize Bill Clinton's speech from the Convention and you will be well-armed to handle anything that comes at you. That is a silver bullet that will kill them dead.

Allow him unlimited talk time - it won't take long for him to scare the liver out of any rational viewers.

He doesn't need canned 'zingers' to score a 'gotcha', and he won't use old debate cliches. He will have prepared rejoinders, but his best moments are more likely to come simply from his ability to think on his feet--something where his opponent is at a distinct disadvantage.

That only reinforces MR's image of being shallow, unprepared, out of touch, opportunistic, dishonest, and arrogant.

Let's say he delivers a Class A TKO during the debate. Does that make him qualified to be POTUS? Or does that make him look like the ass we've come to know?

If only that was all it took.

it's only a zinger if it's spontaneous, otherwise it just doesn't work. I can just see Mitt standing in front of the mirror; practicing his empathy face and reciting his zingers.
