We already have a Covid vaccine better than any being developed - MASKS
I've been doing some internet research and have found that study after study has shown that mask wearing reduces SARS-CoV-2 virus transmission by around 75%. To be approved for public dissemination we're being told that a Covid vaccine will need to be at least 50% effective.
Another aspect of mask wearing is that even if a person is exposed to airborne virus they'll get a much reduced dose of the virus and will almost certainly have either mild or no symptoms. On average, the US saw about 40% of Covid cases being asymptomatic, but in areas of the country where the use of mask wearing in public was prevalent the number of Covid cases that were asymptomatic was 80% of total cases. I feel that this point needs to be made again and again and again by our public health experts and leaders (and our President once we have one). If we could get people to be responsible this pandemic would be under control instead of spreading like a wildfire through our population. Here are some good articles on the topic. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/covid-face-mask-protection-vaccine-cdc-director/ https://www.health.com/condition/infectious-diseases/coronavirus/masks-vs-vaccine https://abcnews.go.com/Health/masks-offer-protection-covid-19-potential-vaccine-experts/story?id=73080355 https://www.webmd.com/lung/news/20200909/could-your-mask-be-a-kind-of-vaccine-against-covid-19#

2. Masks 😷 are great
But I’m sure that we all want to get to a place where they are no longer needed.

3. How many lives would have been saved that once the supply?
base had been able to support it, if the President and the other leaders of both parties had sent masks to every household in the US along with getting on every network to educate and "make it cool".
I got BBQ takeout yesterday. I walked in to pick up the food - no masks. Turned around and called from my car. Woman that delivered the food didn't have a mask either. It is the last time I go to that place. It is a locally owned business, and I liked supporting it, but no more. |

4. I suspect that the same people who refuse to wear masks
will refuse to get vaccinated.
