so we'll see him for a bit longer. I noticed him making the odd error last week so I'm guessing his deterioration was incremental. He was a brave man - I'd have retired and gone home.
I'll miss him big time

(17,857 posts)I still remember when he became host of Jeopardy and how odd it felt replacing the prior host (Art Fleming).

(267,808 posts)I started watching Jeopardy when Art Fleming was host but it became the one must see program for me under Alex. I can't say I was a fan - I paid more attention to the competitors, but he grew on me and I'll miss him big time.

(50,496 posts)I can remember when Alex would meet with the contestants in the middle after the last commercial break. Then he would stay by the contestants without them leaving their spot. With Covid he keeps his distance and the contestants don't shake hands or anything.

(10,148 posts)We were noticing that occasionally his lips were very blue looking. And about two weeks or so ago, his voice was gravelly.
I think the long time viewers deep down saw this coming. Talk about strength and courage, he had it in spades.
I'm happy that he knew just how much he was loved by us all!

(267,808 posts)His voice was going and he was making the odd error, which he never did when he wasn't under all this treatment. He was a very brave man - to the end.
