Ashley Biden!!!

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-8921041/Ashley-Biden-daughter-poised-step-Ivankas-shoes.html

Well i don't agree with the headline re: Ashley poised to step into Ivanka's shoes. They can't be more different.

BUT i do hope, as the article says, that Ashley & her plastic surgeon hubby Howard Krein will be there to help him. They have no kids so i think she will have more time to devote to assisting Biden administration.

I saw Ashley accompany her dad & nephew to Mass this morning and was intrigued, as she does not like to be in the limelight, unlike Ivanka. Personally i think Ashley's a poised, lovely young lady whose accomplished, very well spoken, an empathetic humanitarian and philanthropist.

1. Please no family members, except for First Lady/First Husband, in official WH capacity

3. i don't agree with that. If she can help, Ashley and her hubby should be there for her father.

They're not there to grift. She & her husband are philanthropists and don't seek attention. If they can help Joe serve the nation they should.

34. the trumps had a charity and were philanthropists too

How did that turn out?
NO. NO family in official capacities.
We don't know who else will gain the white house and think the trumps arrangements were a good idea.
Lets look at how we can spare our great grandkids another mess like the trump nepotism. Or they will hate us.

10. Ashley has been stumping on the campaign trail w/ her dad. She's very protective of him and i think

he will need her support. It would be good for Joe to be surrounded by family.

8. That was my first thought.

The only other family members that should be in the white house are the first dogs.

31. I'd go as far as new laws to prohibit family in WH roles.

This current trump WH has looked like Saddam, Uday, and Quesay.
We need to squelch it for future generations or we have learned nothing.

14. The current nepotism law was written IN RESPONSE TO the Kennedy situation.

If Biden wants them around for moral support, that's fine.

But any official position is against the law, unless you want Biden to adopt the "up is down, down is up, we've always been at war with Eastasia, words don't mean what words mean" style of interpreting laws that characterized the Trump administration. I don't.

That BTW was AFTER the nepotism law.

22. Her involvement generated litigation, related to a different law having to do with federal

advisory committees rather than the nepotism laws. It was hardly non controversial, and not plainly legal when first done. Ultimately she/they prevailed, but on a very narrow, specific ruling which doesn't apply to Trump or Biden and their daughters.

Again, Trump went over the line, Biden should not, and doesn't need to.

32. true, but with the trump abuses we have to have future presidents on a shorter leash.

They can still love their families without having them work in the white house.
There is lots of talent in this country, presidents don't need to hire family.
Neither party.

what they do.. help and be there for each other.

Not for grifting and fleecing America.

12. Exactly Cha. The gal is married to a plastic surgeon and is a philanthropist, for goodness sake.

She's not out to take advantage of her access to power. If she can be of service to the country by helping her father in some capacity i'm all for it. The Bidens are not money-grubbing Trump types. They are good, decent people. Ashley is a lovely young lady who can do good things. She's already demonstrated that.

13. Did you support nepotism under Trump?

If not, why would you support it under Biden? What other First Kids "helped" their father as President besides Fat Nixon's? I don't remember any being publicly involved.

19. I would have supported Ivanka & her husband helping their crooked dad as advisors IF

1- he, and them, were people of moral character and
2- not there to grift & take advantage of the office of POTUS for their grifting and self-serving purposes

IF they helped him do good for the country & the world, then yes, though we know this isn't the case.

15. One would think she'll help out her mom.

Jill is planning to continue to work full-time, so I'm betting Ashley takes over some of the First Lady duties. She could handle the fawking Chreesmas decorations, and do a much better job than the weird nightmares we have seen over the past 4 years. Perhaps she might be interested in restoring the Rose Garden.

20. This article just seems like idle, click bait speculation. There is no indication

that Ashley has any intention of playing the unseemly role originated by Ivanka, so any criticism of "nepotism" seems both premature and unwarranted. Think, people! Biden has pledged to staff his administration with skilled, experienced professionals.

21. of course it's just pure speculation. Nonetheless i wouldn't doubt if Ashley did help her dad in

some capacity once he's sworn in. She's a smart, sensible, empathetic & kind young lady whose an activist to help others, as the article has mentioned. Why not put all that good talent to good use should she want to help him?

33. Correct and it needs to be put into law.

We can't count on always getting the Bidens. If our country goes another 250 years there are possibilities of more families like trumps. This is a good time to write tough nepotism laws for the executive branch.
