With a tidal wave of early and absentee voters this year, very few made up their minds in the final days of the contest: Just 4% say they made up their minds in the final week of the campaign, and almost three-quarters said they made up their minds before September.

The low undecideds is what gave the polls such consistency in 2020 (and in contrast to how volatile they were in 2016). When you are on top you want consistent polls. When you are the underdog you are hoping for lots of undecideds to maybe you turn things around.

(3,131 posts)1. I guess that mass of undecided voters
they kept inviting to panels couldnt decide whether they should drive, walk, bicycle or uber to the polling place.
Someone should eventually check on them or they might starve.

I suppose early in my post-18 y/o life, I might have briefly considered the idea that someday in the then-unknown future, a decent Republican might come along with moderate positions and better character than some especially unappealing Democrat.
I was quickly disabused, however, of the notion that any decent Republicans would ever come along, at least on the national ticket.

Hopefully soon she will be concerned about being unemployed.
