(42,862 posts)... is the same as "licking their boots". That's not what this is about or intended to be.
There are some lessons to be learned and I think that our own liberal groups and PACS would be wise to take pointers and lessons from their success. Especially the fact that they were able to make VERY EFFECTIVE and memorable commercials that were ONLY SIXTY SECONDS LONG.
So many of the other liberal spots I've seen just dragged on and on and on before getting to the point... failing to deliver their zinger or message with clarity and post-hast was always a weak spot with some of these "commercials" that were just condensed novellas. (But for some reason, they were met with rave reviews among the choir, but weren't so effective as a tool to sway the undecided, or to change the minds of those who weren't strong Trump supporters.)
In any case, it was a great run and I hope we Democrats can continue on in the same direction by imitating their clarity and conviction and professionalism and style. Their ads just NAILED IT over and over... consistently.
I was very impressed.

(6,265 posts)licked any boots. An appreciation something akin to "reaching across the aisle" is appropriate. Hell simple comparison is Mueller fail but showed real malfeasance by the current administration. It was trying desperately to maintain a thin veneer of unnecessary civility. TLP put it in their face. I appreciated their effort at exposing what a "tin pot wannabe dictator" trump is.

(10,826 posts)But they have assumed the position of a ProDemocracy organization. They are not disbanding after the election, not until the last Trump enabler and apologist is removed from office. They'll be active in the January special election contests, and then begin work for the 2022 and 2024 cycle. They've vowed to fight on for whatever length of time it takes to removes the last vestiges of Trumpism.
Biden/Harris will win. But tomorrow's election is just the beginning. For all of us.
VOTE for America. VOTE for the future. I will support any organization that does the same.

That's good enough for me.
But the one thing I appreciate is that they showed themselves to be loyal and patriotic Americans. That's more than we can say about many republicans and also so non-republicans.
Here is their final video. I'm going to miss seeing their work almost every day:

(1,102 posts)14-18% of republicans voted for Biden.
That is a miraculous feat which was accomplished by TLP and RVAT's targeted media placements.
Just as we had "Reagan Democrats" we will now have "Biden Republicans" -- many of those may not go back when Biden performs well.
Not thanking TLP because they are republicans is being ungrateful.

(7,681 posts)Behind her veneer of support for President Trump she votes with him something like 97 percent of the time, she bragged on Fox & Friends in Julytheres a far harsher reality: Many of her and her fathers closest friends and ideological allies have become the most virulent Trump critics. The large group, which includes former national security adviser John Bolton, Steve Schmidt, Steve Hayes, Bill Kristol, and Jennifer Rubin, are rooting for Liz to restore their brand of conservatism after Trump.
"I've talked to a lot of people about the conversation we have to have in the Republican Party, about how to cut this albatross off from around our necks if he loses, Bolton told POLITICO, referring to Trump. And I think it's going to be very robust across the board."
Schmidt, the former counselor to Dick Cheney and adviser to John McCain who has become a prominent Trump critic, said, If theres a resurgence of conservatism as a functioning political philosophy in this country, Liz Cheney is as good a bet as anybody to be a leader in that. Liz Cheney is certainly not going to be a person over the next 20 years whos fighting to advance nationalism and populism.

(1,102 posts)TLP is comprised of educated and moderate republicans who hate the right wing trash and lament what has happened to their party.
The Trump supporting contingent is the right wing trash.
My speculation is that TLP wants to start a new party called the Lincoln party and get sane, rational, educated conservatives on board to the exclusion of the trump and trump enabling cabal.
We do need a functioning opposition that will negotiate and pass legislation for the benefit of America instead of just saying no to everything.

(16,843 posts)It seems like most Democrats just don't have the killer instinct needed to really go after an opponent, and that was most necessary this time around. Democrats just aren't mean enough, or at least the ones who do our ads aren't. Or if they're mean enough, they aren't succinct enough. If nothing else, I hope Democrats are taking lessons on how to attack an opponent properly and do maximum damage. If the Democrats want to be a majority party again, they're going to have to learn how to attack, not just defend.

I've really appreciated all you've done, from your ads to your townhalls, to your provocative discussions and TV appearances, and tweets. You've helped make these past few months a little bit more bearable for me, and hopefully less bearable for Trump and his enablers.

(42,862 posts)Too often our liberal ads are WAY WAY WAY too long. Too much information, delivered too slowly, meandering and with no specific point or destination in mind. In contrast, the LP ads were crisp, clever, clear, concise, and focused like a laser. They were well-written and delivered the punch in under 60-seconds.

Lets begin by just saying it: The country owes the Never Trump conservatives a debt.
Yes, many progressives have been uneasy with these unusual allies. They insist that Trump was not some alien imposition on conservatism but rather the product of long-standing trends in Republican politics. Trafficking in racial division and racism, nativism, extremism, conspiracy theories and voter suppression did not start with Trump.
Progressives are entirely right about this. But the Never Trumpers deserve our respect precisely because so many of them stood against these tendencies and, in more cases than not, undertook a deeper critique of their own side......
Of course, Id like the anti-Trump conservatives to admit the error of their ways and fully join my side of politics. But failing that, I still appreciate what they did. And I hope at least they can now champion a brand of conservatism that is about more than making the rich richer and the powerful more powerful.
