Anyone else mildly nervous that DU may be sabotaged again like in 2016?

Those were some of the worst days I can remember, and frankly, I've pushed it deep into the back recesses of my brain and tried to forget it as best as I could. It's overwhelming to be separated from others of a similar mind in the midst of an existential shift to your paradigm.

I have great faith in everyone who manages this site, which is the best website on the planet. I'm just skeered that I may lose touch with some of my friends here if the shenanigans return. Let's stay strong together. See you on the other side.

12. Better to stir up anxiety, needlessly and repetitively?

13. You think it wasn't anxiety that caused me to write it?

Two days before election? Not two weeks. Not two months. Not two years. TWO DAYS.

I think it's topical.

15. Perhaps not everybody is

following as closely as others?
Should they be left to feel unwanted - uninformed - or less serious/interested because they're not there 24/7?
Let's take and support EVERY interested/concerned person we can get.
We have a common cause - we do not need to shun those who can't/don't react the same way to every situation.

GO, JOE!

2. If it is

I proposed using Facebook messenger group. That way it can be controlled who comes in and we can make sure trolls don't act up

4. I still have PTSD from last time.

When DU doesn't load up as fast as I expect it to, I feel a trickle of panic.

7. I wasn't aware of that, but it's an excellent idea.

I'm sure we're well-poised to put down any threats. Still doesn't completely allay my fears, though I know that many of us share this sentiment.

9. The election will continue either way....

It would be mildly annoying but not devastating. BFD.

Winning is what matters. It's all that matters really.

14. DU beefed up their security

It's going to a lot tougher to hack DU this time. Four years ago, we didn't have secure connections.

I'm confident we'll hold up this time.

16. That's very comforting. I believe it.

I fully expect to spend many, many hours on DU in the coming week.
