10. I was a copy editor for a newspaper for 45 years.

I'm retired now, but old habits die hard. It drives me crazy when people don't seem to understand the difference between their, there and they're. Also between your and you're. And its and it's. I suspect spellcheckers in word-processing software programs don't understand these distinctions and often are the culprit. Whatever the reason, it's like fingernails screeching across chalkboard to my copy editor sensibilities whenever somebody makes these kinds of mistakes.

And I just noticed that, while I was posting this, the original poster made the correction.

31. I write a great deal and was an editor in a former life myself.

I can well understand why it drives you up the wall. I had hoped that once texting would lead to better command of our tongue in written form, but thatís not materialized. Nonetheless, I salute the original poster for making the updates. In other forums ó such as Reddit ó a short and idiotic retort would be the likely response. Iím glad civility still counts here.

Except when they have to use marzipan. Then things get tense.

I know they do it to build suspense, but after a while it gets annoying. It also does not help that I have watched every episode available on streaming sources twice.

20. I agree.

I started watching "How to Get Away with Murder" on Netflix and it went on and on, the plot getting more convoluted and ridiculous, dead bodies piling up, lots of close-ups of the actors furiously emoting. Finally I just skimmed through episodes trying to get to the end and found there are more seasons not available yet so I don't even know how the damn thing ends. Some of the other Netflix series were pretty much only people fucking and texting. Movies are best.

Thanks for the reminder. I love British, Australian and New Zealand shows.

Have you checked out britbox? And if so, any difference between the two?

young vote down there, more Republicans are voting than Democrats. I wish all we had was a 1/2 hour nightly news like
in the old days. The 24/7 365 media has done nothing but divide the country and if Trump somehow wins it will destroy
Democracy.

We all know it'll be a crap show day of and after. We have to actually wait until Jan 20, so I cannot let myself get caught up in this frenzy. They do try so hard to get us to look, but no, I've seen enough. We are going to win, bigly.

and Sunday morning lineup, as well.

I've voted, I've donated as much as I can afford to various Democratic campaigns. I'm on pins and needles right now and can't wait for this to be over.

Excellent through 3 episodes

Fargo Season 4 is really good. Not quite as cerebral as the first three seasons, but still very good.

If you're inot this sort of thing, it'sby one my favorite chess mavens, Agadamator:

Turns out it was based on an actual game, to a point.

You have quite a few of my favorites on your list!
Rectify has to be my all-time favorite, followed by Bordertown.

Here's a few more suggestions.
Wanted
Bodyguard (not The Bodyguard)
Lilyhammer, which will only be funny if you have watched The Sopranos.
Secret City
Versailles

And for total fun and some good laughs,
What's Phil Eating?

I'm even saving special shows to watch on Election Day. Every time I start getting nervous, I'll put on one of my specially chosen programs that I know will calm me down.

That, and some adult beverages.

"Bewitched" on Imdb. It's one of their free shows. Which means it has commercials, usually only 3 at a time and no political ads, so they're not so bad.

It is interesting to see how the gender rolls were portrayed and sometimes smashed. It originally aired from 1964-72.

If they win this it will be that. If they win that it will be this. If a flaming pie comes out of the sky loaded with gold bars I'll be out of this country if Trump steals another election.

49. I quit television news and opinion shortly after September 11, 2001.

Quit "traditional" cable-satellite-broadcast television more than a decade ago.

Mostly our television plays DVDs and Netflix.

First television makes you anxious, then they try to sell you something to make you less anxious.

I'm glad I got off that crazy train.
