Why does CNN show 90,000 instead of 101,035 for new cases of Covid?

You would think that on a day when we broke the 100,000 mark that the news would be more accurate. CNN is always behind Worldometers, why?

Perhaps it go up during the upcoming 3 hours, and they're doing it for programming reasons.

I don't specifically recall whether CNN is one of them.

The NY times, for example, memorialized some significant number of deaths or new cases as coming within the next week - when it had already happened the prior week.

...which is basically the COVID tabloid, known for sensationalist figures that don't hold up. I'd rely on the CDC or Johns Hopkins numbers myself.
