Repeat after me: "All votes have never been counted on election night." These graphs show the number of votes that were counted and reported in 2016 after Wednesday morning following E-Day. Even "quick count" states had work to do.

(22,597 posts)4. With the new machines we have in my NC county
and I hope in other counties in NC, election officials are able to scan the bubble filled ballots into the state system and the results are tabulated in literally minutes.
I believe we will see an excellent and swift result from North Carolina not long after the polls close. We're going Blue! I can feel it in my bones.
Thanks for sharing this, soothsayer.

(8,052 posts)5. Isn't it just projections by the media?
There's no authority who "calls it". Until it goes to the Supreme Court and they quit counting and the victory goes to the Republicans, of course.

(54,770 posts)6. Fortunately, the SC is not indicating counting can't go on after Nov 3. Question seems to be
under each state's law are ballots received after Nov 3 -- but post marked on or before Nov 3 -- legitimate.
