Breaking the rules...Ok, They will get what they have sown.
..Our side will show them how rules can be broken. If we get a strong majority, then we will increase the size of the court. That will be an ugly, mean, and vicious fight but it will happen. Other fights will make this one look quite ordinary.
So we must get out and vote and get that strong majority in the Senate. As someone pointed out..."The fight has just begun." And Yes,..."It has just begun."

1. The 🔑 is KILLING THE FILIBUSTER.
Getting rid of completely makes the world possible with a Dem House, Senate and President.
If the American people give us all three, it is a mandate for real change. |

3. I wish we hadn't killed the filibuster on judges, we wouldn't be in the shit we are now.
We have no choice now but to rebalance the court.

4. The filibuster was brought in to appease slave states in pre Civil War years.
It needs to go.
It will also blunt the influence of taker red states. |

7. you realize the filibuster i'm talking about has already went years ago right?
I said they could not have voted in Amy with a simple majority if we hadn't gotten rid of the filibuster already.
Now that that is done, we have no choice but to get rid of the rest of them. |

10. It isn't gone completely. Sections have been carved out.
To be clear though it wasn't Democrats it was Republicans in 2017 which carved out an exception for Supreme Court justices.
Why do you think Republicans would leave it in place to block themselves? Do you really think that. Moscow Mitch was going to just rollover and say I can remove the rule on Supreme Court justices and get a Supreme Court justice but nope I won't do that. So why didn't he do that? It never served any purpose other than to block Democrats who clutch at pearls not wanting to change things. The cloture vote requires 60 votes BUT at any point it can be changed for any reason with 50 votes. It was a tissue paper wall. Republicans routinely watered it down (like removing it on Supreme Court justices in 2017) when they needed to. |

5. Plus...you do realize that McConnell would have changed filibuster rules to railroad ACB through.
Right?

9. Really? You think Republicans wouldn't have killed it on Supreme Court judges anyways
Republicans DO WHAT THEY CAN. If they have power and the letter of the law allows them to do something they do it.
Did the letter of the law allow Mitch to block Garland? Yes and he did it in 2016. Did the letter of the law allow Mitch to remove the cloture (filibuster) vote on Supreme Court justices? Yes and he did it in 2017. Did the letter of the law allow Mitch to railroad Amy? Yes and he did it in 2020. Seeing a pattern. |

12. Now we play by Mitch's rules. Brass knuckles. We must smash and grab to restore the nation.
And I am not saying that sarcastically. We are at war. We fight it like a war or America is dead.

14. Yes, but if they go ahead and do that, they have to have a legislative steamroller to push
fundamental change through, and come down on any wavering Dem, nervous about 2022. People need to understand the consequences. If the American people see the change happening that they have been crying out for, it will benefit Democrats in 22, and beyond.

13. You will see it soon. Within the next few months. Payback will be amazing.
Pelosi and Schumer will not be kind. What McConnell did to get this court appointee on the Supreme Court will be the key. He went around the rules to get it done immediately...
...It was done. Payback will be amazing. I think we will all be surprised. |
