The Amish guys behind Trump at Penn rally ?

I don’t know if they were real or fake Amish.
But, they made me laugh.
Felt like a scene out of a Borat movie.

I wish I knew how to put up a screen shot here.
If anybody does know how, please do.

5. My guess is that they are fake.

Amish by tradition don't let themselves be photographed. And being behind Trump at a rally, it would be assumed it is being recorded.

16. Amish voter turnout is only around 10% (if you actually believe them!)

Only a small number of Amish cast ballots in presidential elections, likely less than 10%. Amish may be more likely to get involved when voting involves issues which directly affect them, such as zoning. Amish generally do not vote for a few reasons.

Why don’t most Amish participate in political elections?

For one, Amish follow a “Two Kingdoms” theology, which holds that there exist both a material and a spiritual kingdom. While respecting worldly governments, Amish feel that Christians should adhere to the laws of the spiritual kingdom above all.

Though Amish are highly law-abiding, they view the material kingdom as worldly and traditionally limit interaction within it. Amish believe in non-resistance, and may be hesitant to take part in electing a politician who may use force as an agent of the state. Amish do not hold political office themselves, for similar reasons.

19. link has pics of them in line but link said most do not vote

The Amish who do vote are typically Republican. Ninety percent of the registered voters among the Amish are registered Republicans. Only one percent register as Democrats.

That’s not surprising to Nolt. “I think a significant factor is local political context,” he said. “If, for example, you are interested in politics, and embedded in rural Lancaster County, connected to politically minded neighbors and coworkers, your political sentiments are probably going to be Republican. It would be surprising if that wasn’t the case.”

There is an Amish PAC
One organization trying to make that sale is Amish PAC, believing that in the battleground state of Pennsylvania, every vote, even the few that could be harvested from the Amish community, counts.

Amish PAC is not run by the Amish, rather it is headquartered in Arlington, Virginia, founded in 2016 by two men, Ben Walters and Ben King. King, president of a construction company in Lancaster County, is a former member of the Amish community and serves as outreach director for the PAC. King has said in previous interviews with other media outlets that for the Amish he spoke with in 2016, “the primary thing that brought out the Amish vote was the Supreme Court.” Walters has said that Hillary Clinton “was a blessing” for the PAC. (Emails and phone messages left for Walters and King were not returned.)
Another person working on drumming up political interest among the Amish is Chris Cox, founder of Bikers for Trump.

20. I wasn't watching so I'm not sure what you're referring to.

Generally the Amish are non-political and they have nothing to do with the English ways.

However, when Amish reach the age of 16 they usually go through Rumshpringa. This is the time that they have some freedom and get to choose if they want to continue with the Amish and the Amish ordnung. If they choose to leave, the English usually refer to them as "jerked over", meaning they jumped the fence to live like the English. So, I guess it's possible that 18+ looking Amish guys are rooting and voting for it.
