(4,261 posts)That's why I suggested we keep an eye on The Lincoln Project. Whatever the motives of the original people, I suspect many will jump on the bandwagon to escape scrutiny.

(57,073 posts)Is "He is a terrible human being, but better than Decocrat's wealth distribution."
This is usually followed by a suggestion that McSally or some other poor excuse for a leader run, rather than chumputin.
Bottom line is that chump being a terrible person will not deter votes.

(95,244 posts)"Historians have a word for Germans who joined the Nazi party, not because they hated Jews, but out of a hope for restored patriotism, or a sense of economic anxiety, or a hope to preserve their religious values, or dislike of their opponents, or raw political opportunism, or convenience, or ignorance, or greed.

However, they thought his base was so strong that they didn't want to publicly say it, because they figured they'd get primaried by a Trump-appointed nominee. So, they put on the public face of supporting Trump continually. Now that they know that Trump is like the sinking Titanic, they're trying to separate themselves from him, hoping it'll save them face.

(3,994 posts)Many of his voters know how corrupt he is -- that he is a grifting, lying sack of shit.
But he hates who they hate like people of color and immigrants, and that fuels their fire.

(290 posts)We keep hearing from these Grand Ole party George Bush Republicans as if they are in the know. The roots of the modern day Republicans is Southern racists not Everett Dirksen. These uptown Republicans thought they could use these racist Republicans. They think they are still in charge. The Republican Party is now completely controlled by the anti-American racists. They are out. Do not listen to them..
