(NBC) Over 400 passenger won't be flying Delta anytime soon as a result of their alleged refusal to wear face masks during flights, according to an internal memo obtained by NBC News.
In a letter to Delta employees Thursday, CEO Ed Bastian said that 460 customers who refused to wear face coverings amid the coronavirus pandemic were added to the airline's "no-fly list."
"Wearing a mask is among the simplest and most effective actions we can take to reduce transmission, which is why Delta has long required them for our customers and our people," Bastian wrote as he announced the bans, encouraging staff to view two internal videos about their effectiveness. ................(more)

(1,159 posts)Airlines should all require that at the time of ticketing, the passenger must affirmatively agree to 1) wear a mask, and 2) if they refuse to wear a mask after boarding, they must cover the actual cost of the resulting disruption/delays such as cost of fuel to return to the gate, accommodations for passengers who miss connecting flights as a result, and so on. Airlines should also collectively agree to ban people who then violate the mask requirements.

(21,432 posts)chin or neck during the flight? Or leave their nose uncovered, which is the same as not wearing one at all?
Once you're in the air, what can you do about it?

(1,945 posts)I just heard from a friend who had to fly to South Carolina and back for family funeral. She said that they allow you to remove your mask while eating. One guy, when not eating the regularly served meals just kept eating sunflower seeds for the whole trip. Kept his mask off. She didn't say if the staff said anything or not, but it didn't sound like he was required to put the mask on.

(22,031 posts)Republicans consistently cut regulations on businesses claiming they can regulate themselves.
Well, here is Delta doing just that.
Suck it, Republicans.

(11,949 posts)Mainly because they highly serve MCO but also the flights are better.
I really enjoy flying to Europe when it is an Air France flight which delta has an agreement with. I swear the food is better and the crew more chill.
Finally the bought none of the 737 max death traps.
