Wow. What a whopper. Or maybe it's a statement of humility, as in 'I'm the least of the racist persons in this room'. Yeah, I think that's it. He is humbling himself among his racists followers in attendance.
If we use mathematical brackets we'd see this distinction more clearly.
I am the least (racist person) in this room
I am the (least racist) person in this room
Deciphering the context. Because he can't in all seriousness think that the public took it the way the lie was dished out.

He meant it exactly as he said it. It's the kneejerk defense of many a racist.

is not a denial of his contempt for people of color...it's a confirmation of his hate for people of color...he could have said "I'm not a racist" but instead he said without actually saying "I'm a racist but not a really big one"..racial hate, antisemitism, LGBT hate, ethnic hate...Trump was attempting to parse his hate...can't be done...

(1,204 posts)Trump's statement that he is the least racist in the room, essentially says that everyone in the room is more racist. Calling every one present there racist should have resulted with having HIS ass kicked out of the room.
I'm embellishing what 'Nate McMurray running for Congress' in Buffalo tweeted last night.

he at least qualified it by saying he couldn't see the audience so he couldn't confirm how racist they were.
