Scammers will try anything to get your info?

This happened yesterday and just a few minutes ago! I get a phone call from a number in my area code which I let go to voicemail, stating that my Social Security information needs to be updated! Please call us back at this overseas number! Right! I am not that stupid to fall for this! Another call yesterday which I let it go to voicemail, telling that my ATM card ending in 1234 has had suspicious activity on this card! Please call us to straighten out the issues! Well, gotta give kudos for trying? I block the number and they just call using another number!

1. Call SSA

There is web site to AG for SSA scams. Please report them!

2. My little town has only one prefix for all its numbers.

Scammers have used an app that comes across as one of my "neighbors".

The pattern is always the same: It only rings 4 times, then quits--or it goes to the machine and there's no message.

My neighbors always leave a message. It's a friendly town.

3. I got a call from "The Census Bureau" telling me I left my Social Security number off of my form.

They had my name and address, and this fellow was willing to let me "correct" my SS number omission right over the telephone.
