Too high pitched for gravitas.
But that's not really the issue.
She's now talking about all her children, her husband and her siblings.

(990 posts)But I agree it has an irritating quality about it. I'm surprised someone along the way hasn't helped her acquire an adult, professional woman's voice vs. her the "little girl" sound.

(990 posts)How can you take an adult seriously if they sound like a 12 year old?
Also reminds of the voice of grown women in a relationship with a very controlling man.

(175,731 posts)Her version of a Midwestern voice is irritating and childish. She sounds like a high school freshman reciting in an unacknowledged contest to be teacher's pet.

(7 posts)I could not believe it when I first heard it. Never heard anyone speak in public like that. At first I thought she was whining-but it is constant. It is as if a whole range of human experience is missing. I wonder if her unusual life style and beliefs have squashed the core of her and all that is left is that little slice of tonality. I strongly suspect that she is a very unhappy woman and does not know it. Talk of someone not having found their voice!
