Turns out 'some' of those 46,699 bad Franklin County absentee ballots are actually correct
It turns out you might be getting a new Franklin County absentee ballot even though the one you already received is perfectly fine.
Use the new one anyway, just to be sure.
County elections officials announced Friday that they are sending 49,699 replacement ballots to voters who got the wrong ones initially. The number could have been thousands more except several boxes had not been dropped off at the post office last Monday with the others.
But late Saturday the elections board announced that "some" of those replacement ballots actually were unnecessary, because the original one actually was correct.
Elections officials aren't saying how many "some" represents.
County officials said the problem stemmed from the vendor that processes the ballots on behalf of the county.
