Ever ask yourself why your typical righty loves to OWN libs?

They are almost always white, moderately educated but not able to access their knowledge as well as we can because their brains are smaller. Usually pretend to be religious and they love guns, not always but usually. I say pretend because you cant be a Christian and a trump supporter, as we all know.

They want to "own" us but why?

For electing a BRILLIANT Black man?

For ensuring rights for everyone?

For cleaning up their air and water?

For giving them a safe workplace, guaranteed by OSHA?

For making sure they have funds to live on if they lose their job? Unemployment compensation?

For having a minimum wage to prevent more poverty?

For pursuing science to allow them to live longer and healthier?

For creating Medicare and Social Security? Without which more than half of them would have to sell their homes when they retire or never retire.

For creating and maintaining excellent relationships with other leaders and nations and peoples?

I dont get it...

14. it makes them feel smarter than us. Trump once said, "I love the poorly educated."

Donald Trump once said, "I love the poorly educated."

... Contemporaneous reporting of the latter contest noted that Trump did particularly well among “less educated voters”:

Trump did well across the board in Nevada, garnering 45.9% of the vote, but he did even better among voters with a high school education or less. Fifty-seven percent of those voters supported him, according to entrance polls.

The next closest candidate among high-school-or-less voters was Ted Cruz, who had 20%.

That’s a sizable gap of 37 percentage points.

Trump didn’t just win with less educated voters … he crushed it.

They pretend to care about each other, and do to some extent, but not others unlike them in any form or shape or color.

22. In the same way Hillary Clinton was demonized

Liberals have been demonized as a group. If you recall, there was a time when the very word 'liberal' was only whispered, not said aloud because of the blowback people would experience. Liberal has been equated with chaos in the minds of righties. We're secret commies/socialists, fully prepared to bring down the American Way, which is really about white male, Christian dominance in all things. The right-wing looks backward to the golden past, a past they've created in their own minds.

The demographics in the country and around the world are changing. People of all stripes, religions, ethnic backgrounds are demanding their voices heard. It's fear that drives the Trump supporters and other fringe-right groups, fear of change, fear of the other, fear of the future that cannot be stopped. Fear and hate and ignorance go hand-in-hand. Trumpers wrap this all up in the flag and religion disguising the true intent, the ugliness of their baseline beliefs.

The years ahead are not going to be pretty. But change is a-coming one way or the other.

23. Yes, I was around when the word "liberal" became a swear word or bad thing, when in fact

all people should aspire to be liberal.

Journalists by definition would be, if you look at the definition, but the right successfully painted themselves as victims of TRUE journalism, because all those reporters were LIBERALS.

27. They think we sit around sneering at how stupid they are

and to some extent that's true. They think we believe we're better than they are, that because we hold liberal views that see equality, where they see people who were once easily identifiable as their inferiors (because of skin color or sexual orientation) being more successful than they are. Many of them probably had a hard time in school, where at least they could mock the nerds, and now here's a president who says it's OK to make fun of the "inferior" groups and mock the nerds again, and they know that upsets us. Which is what they live to do.

29. Who am I better than today mentality. It's a hierarchy. Involves bullying.

Got one over on, get the better than, taken to the extreme.

The feeling of satisfaction rather than actual satisfaction. They say, do something that only hurts them in the end, but their like-minded friends laugh/cheer at what they said or did, so it's seen as a win. An "own".

That brief moment, which they will relive over and over, it's what they gain. Basically, nothing. But within that group it's bragging rights. It's a shared moment of being better than others. It's the time they came out on top - to their thinking.

It's something they can control. Something they get to determine. Hurting your feelings, or leaving you frustrated.

If you don't like it, it must be good - and if they can contribute to your feelings of unease or discomfort, it's a win for them.

Things that aggravate them about their life - money, bills, healthcare, overworked, underpaid, unemployed, etc. - they find a release through attacking those they see as causing those problems. Attacking gives them control when they feel they have no control over anything.

They don't see how their own actions - how they vote, how they think, what they believe - mainly the things that they cling to - bring about the majority of what ails them.

They cling to what they know because it is familiar. The familiar gives them a feeling of comfort. That comfort gives them a feeling of security.

Moving away from the familiar can be scary. Fear plays a huge role in all of this.

When the echo-chamber of hate - the hierarchy of who am I better than today - mirrors how they are feeling by leading the echo-chamber (Trump/Republicans/assorted other hate groups/friends) then they get a sense of validation about what they are feeling.

A - So it's not just me - sense of belonging.

Strength in numbers.

If you think you are being pushed out (no sense of belonging) because other people demand an equal place at the table (rights, liberties, justice, fairness) - and you were primed from childhood to believe it is the "other" causing all the problems; taking away the familiar, your sense of comfort, security, and belonging - then you behave like a Trump supporter/Republican voter, more or less.

It's rooted in "Not one of us". (bias, prejudice, racism, white supremacy)

Other factors like the lack of education, lack of opportunity, lack of travel of any kind, lack of seeing something new or different exacerbates those negative biases already taking root. Makes them worse. Intensifies those already existing thoughts and feelings. They are nurtured on hate and ignorance instead of experiences that expand thought.

OK. I'll stop now. Sorry. Got carried away.

32. They're fairly odd people in my experience

Had one the other day made me facepalm because they were deriding they metric system “I don’t know anything about that, I’m an American” and also went into a tirade how Trump Tower reinvigorated Manhattan. Also went on about the “America is a business and it needs to be run by a business man”

Just bizarre shit.

My BIL just loves his guns, and hates Jay Inslee worse than anybody as far as I can tell. When Trump got sick, he got all pissy about “treasonous libtards” wishing death on Trump. No matter what he says about Inslee or Hillary.

Thinks the kid that murdered the protesters was a hero.

Also goes on with this meme about how they don’t care about race “just don’t blame me for your problems” or GBLTQ rights “just don’t shove it down my throat” etc. pretending not to be a bigot or a racist

In my BILs case I know for a FACT that’s a lie. They are bigots and racists.

So anecdotally, the ones I know aren’t the kind of people whose opinions matter much to me, but multiply them by millions they are a powerful voting bloc.

My question is WHY so many of them exist in the first place. Their thought processes are usually poorly informed or just strongly biased by factors such as racism, true, but holy crap they have no desire to learn anything other than their NOT fact based own opinion. I think that’s why there’s so much conspiracy theory in their world. It affects the left as well, but not to the bizarre extent Trumpies got it.

And resent that the educated think they know more than they do.

It's ironic because Limbaugh would go on about "Class envy" and how wrong that it, but educational envy he's OK with.

So they think if they have more power than the libs, they are extra excited to be in charge over the people who think they are so much smarter.

we've seen through their lies, deceptions and bullshit for something like 40 years and about the only emotion they stir in us nowadays is disgust and on our weakest of days, perhaps a tiny bit of pity.

Then (as others said) all other the other stuff - bullying, racism, sexism, anti-immigrant, anti- ecumenism/secularism, Anti-LGBTQI.

42. They want to trigger us

Apparently, they know the difference between right and wrong.

They know that when they do something that's morally wrong (unethical, sexist, racist, homophobic, etc), liberals will be triggered, upset and outraged.

They enjoy watching the fallout--the hours and days we spend rehashing their latest evil acts.

But why, you ask? In my opinion, it's due to an inferiority complex. They feel inferior, less intelligent, less empathetic than most Americans. At least the type they see on TV. But they've found kinship with other deplorables, and together they bash and bully the folks who've made them feel inadequate and lacking in human decency.
