(10,131 posts)Actually he only has one emotion; anger. He just ramps that up when hes hit with something he doesnt like. So the more he goes down in the polls the crazier hell become, raging about how its all fake. He wouldnt consider that hes losing because of his own actions, hell just keep denying reality. I hope someone is standing by with a sedative, ready to knock him out if necessary.

(53,342 posts)The results show a wider gap than Monmouths poll one month ago, when Biden held a 49% to 45% lead among registered voters. The current race standing is more in line with Monmouths July poll, which had it at 53% Biden to 40% Trump. A significantly larger number of voters say Biden (60%) has at least some understanding of their day to day concerns than say the same about Trump (45%).
If any recent event moved the needle it was more likely last weeks debate than the presidents Covid diagnosis. What seems to be more important than either event, though, is voters focus on which candidate they trust more on the issues that keep them up at night, said Patrick Murray, director of the independent Monmouth University Polling Institute.
The poll found little differentiation in vote preferences before and after the president revealed he has Covid-19. Half of the polls interviews were conducted on each side of that breaking news. After adjusting for the samples party registration balance in each half, Biden held a 54% to 42% lead among registered voters in interviews conducted Wednesday and Thursday and a similar 55% to 42% lead in the Friday through Sunday period.

(5,554 posts)The Republicans have been outpacing us significantly in new voter registrations

Not too worried about that though, with multiple polls showing Biden pushing a 10 point or more lead, a 100k net new Republican voters isn't going to be able to overcome that. It does further underline that PA will be a heavily contested state going forward though.

(3,166 posts)I teach at a college, and I can't tell you how many 19- and 20-year-olds I have heard who registered with no party affiliation. In my county, there are now more unaffiliated voters than there are from either major party.
So, the registration advantage that Republicans have had in PA. is not necessarily bad for us Democrats.
