Trump campaign to appoint their own state electors?

I could see Wisconsin's toady GOP legislature doing this. How to prepare and prevent it? Demonstrations don't do it, we learned that during the Snot Walker days.

====

Trump campaign officials and legal advisers are reportedly preparing to appoint their own state electors as a way to secure victory in a contested election, a move that would precipitate an unprecedented constitutional crisis.

The country will in all likelihood not know the outcome of the presidential election on Election Day. It is likely, given a raft of threatening public statements from President Trump, that he will reject unfavorable results.

It has to be a lot of money to hire good lawyers and a huge legal fight with massive amounts of public demonstrations in the street. Demonstrations that paralyze wall street and the economy.

They would need to change the laws in the three states(mi wi Pa) to do that. The governor in the states needed will veto those laws. Also any attempt to try without changing the laws is illegal in those states and the legislators can easily be arrested by the states ag which is a democrat in all cases. Also nobody is likely to be stupid enough to try to so blatantly overthrow the popular vote of their state. Also he would need to be at least cognizant for this to happen and right now, that is looking to be less and less likely to be the case as time goes by.

7. I think it's important to be prepared for all sorts of coup attempts.

If there was to be a concerted coup attempt, it would come in 2020. And "being prepared" need not be a diversion of voter mobilization.

"Also nobody is likely to be stupid enough to try to so blatantly overthrow the popular vote of their state."

Welcome to Wisconsin, where the gerrymandered districts almost ensure those who are stupid enough to try and overthrow the popular vote of their state could very easily succeed.

And states have laws that are consistent with allowing it. Nonetheless, your point definitely stands.

The trolls seem to forget that Dems have brains.

Trump is going to be wiped off the board, and his little dogs too.

It was just a question since Wisconsin was mentioned. I don't live on DU like many do, and I miss lots.
