Biden is doing great overall in the town hall

He is hammering on the need to wear a mask. That's a great point. But I wish he would tie wearing a mask to lowering the infection rate. With a low infection rate, we can reopen things and the economy will gradually come back (including the air traveling industry). The public health aspect is great, but I think he could tie it to economy and hit Trump where it hurts.

1. Agree the Dems all could do better with that

WE are the ones who are pro-business and want places to stay open and you so that by wearing your damn mask!! We let the Repugs claim the pro-business image.

2. Completely agree

The economy and the pandemic are not two separate things. They are closely intertwined. The best thing for the economy is to supress the virus.

3. This was originally scheduled with Trumpo there, correct?

I wasn't sure of the debate schedule. This gives Biden a chance to talk this time. Great to hear him!

4. No, this is a town hall for Biden only.

The next presidential debate is also a town hall on Oct 15th.

6. I agree. My belief is that high adherence to mask wearing is as

important or even more important than social distancing. In Florida, medical practices require patients and staff to wear masks, they are able to operate. Publix requires mask wearing and the one near me is mega busy.

Where are Joeís economic advisers? They should have seized hard on the power of mask wearing to getting the economy back up to speed.

10. And high adherence is how most of the other countries are keeping themselves opened.

They do restrict/close down again if they have an outbreak/uptick in infection. But they are mostly able to open and keep their rates down.

7. And he looks so healthy, vibrant, and articulate

That has to unnerve Trump.

Is he not doing so great, since you needed to post a criticism of him? I'm confused!

9. He is doing great but he can do better?

So no one can offer criticism?

15. Most of the time, when people say "X but Y"...

...it's pretty safe to assume they just mean Y.

20. If you read my op, you should know that I said the public health message is great and needed

It's just that Biden can use that to tie to the economy message because wearing a mask, socially distance to lower the COVID spread will bring back the economy which was part of the question that was raised by the original questioner. The public health aspect is important, so does the economy part. Wanting Biden's message to be clearer and stronger doesn't mean I hate everything he said.

And no one is above criticism, even your seeming questioning my motive. My criticism is constructive, yours not so much. Because you didn't address what I talked about in the op.

11. He's doing fine - he is being himself

But needs to tighten his answers up a bit. Tends to ramble on a bit too long. Always has as long as I can remember and probably always will.

13. I agree. Just that at least for the first 2 questions, the question include part of their concerns

on the economy and his answer only focused on the public health aspect of the question. My suggestion ties it from the public health aspect to the economy and answer the question more wholesomely. They have loaded questions so it's hard to answer all aspects of it, I guess.

17. Yes. All the "both side has no policy" complaints I heard in the first debate was mostly because

Trump talked over everyone so no one can get anything out. Even when Biden tried many times. I love hearing Biden's speeches (without Trump) because he talks about his policies. And he has a gift to tie it to personal experiences and make the answers personal.

16. He hit his stride half way through

It was a touch unfocused in the beginning (in part because some of the questions were repetitive, and in part because he seemed to be having problems hearing or seeing the people because of where he was seated and their distance). A few answers were not entirely to the questionersí points.

But he snapped to it with the questions on police and white supremacy. I think he got much better.

Itís good heís having this practice town hall, because he and his advisors can analyze it and be ready for the planned 2nd debate, which will also have this format.

18. Agreed. That's why I wrote my post. It was written after the first 2 questions.

The questions include their worry about the economy/job but Biden didn't quite address it when he definitely can tie it from the public health aspect to the economy as I suggested.
