Justice Thomas and Alito write long opinion criticizing Obergefell & marriage equality

Tweet text: #SCOTUS orders list: Justice Thomas and Alito write long opinion criticizing Obergefell & marriage equality, and the ending (to me) seems to call for the Court to overturn it.

And in 2022 I can be "unmarried" by the right wing court from hell.

4. Remember - with ACB on the bench, Alito becomes the "ideological center" of the Court

Yeah - you heard that right, he's "the center", that elusive 5th vote that drives everything. Axios does a spectrum analysis and he comes out to the left of Kegger, Thomas and Gorsuch. ACB will fit right in between Gorsuch and Kegger on the right so Alito is our go to guy on "swing" issues.

If that's not terrifying, nothing is.

9. Marriage Equality could be protected with a federal law

The law would reaffirm that marriage is between two adults, regardless of gender. States would be forced to argue that this law violates one's rights. Which it doesn't. It extends rights.

I think there only need to be a few rules about marriage.

1. Both parties much be of legal age. Consenting adults only.
2. One person at a time.
3. Keep it within the species.
