(3,073 posts)And the Dems are training non-attorneys on legal issues and voter protection as well as poll watching- at least in FL this is in place. But until someone is checking the source codes on the machines- which they are not doing anywhere- nor are they doing spot checking for accuracy to verify that the votes entered match the results shown, we are missing the boat. So yes- it's a help that we'll have legal boots on the ground but the reality is the machines will still skim of a few points for the GOP in most districts- because they can.

(36,926 posts)Obama is in control of the Justice Dept. He should be assuring us that the election results will be fair. It's not a state's issue. It is a civil rights issue.

It's all very depressing and yes- elections results should be fair and verifiable. But they are not.
