Justin Trudeau: 'The World Is In Crisis, And Things Are About To Get Much Worse'

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau warned Friday that the current global order will be upended if leaders across the planet fail to come together to uphold human rights and tackle upcoming threats such as climate change.

Trudeau delivered the grave words in a prerecorded message to the United Nations General Assembly.

“The world is in crisis, and not just because of the last few months,” Trudeau said. “Not just because of COVID-19. But because of the last few decades. And because of us.”

Trudeau described the COVID-19 pandemic as a “wake-up call” and argued that organizations formed in the wake of two world wars — such as the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank — are no longer effective because of red tape and because countries repeatedly push their own interests.

And to keep trump in office dooms us as a nation. We will be Unprepared to meet the climate crisis as it grows more and more critical. He'll say it's a hoax, that there's nothing wrong, everything's fine, and here's my newly-acquired quack doctor to tell you more.

The last interval of peace was 1814-1914 or 100 years. We are now at 75 years beyond 1945. Or 71 beyond 1949 if you consider the end of the Chinese Revolution to be the end of the World Wars.

Previously, the interval was from 1648 to 1789 or 141 years. So the interval between "Total Wars" is variable. I think 100 years is a reasonable estimate, although it seems history is speeding up and war might come as early as 80 years from 1949, i.e. by 2029.

This time the collapse of various critical systems will mean the mortality rate is very high and recovery very hard.

Biological weapons could easily kill 90% of the population. There wouldn't be much more anthropogenic climate change thereafter.

Nuclear weapons could change the climate. The soot and chemicals injected into the atmosphere by nuclear weapons can create a "nuclear winter" as happens with supervolcano eruptions.

replace the US unless we get this psychopath out of the WH. The right wing that is dominating the world better watch out when the pendulum swings a hard left.

Climate change is a ticking time bomb. Those deniers need a rude awakening.

It isn't Castro (are you listening Florida?).
It is not Communist China.
It is genuine concern for its people with 'socialized' healthcare.

Unfortunately for them, for us, the table will have become a pit in the ground for the bodies of the losers and winners.

How can we reach cult followers of any type? (r)epuglicons, charismatic xians, rw thugs, saudi-sponsored?

Experts have been warning water will be the new petroleum in the 21st century and we're seeing early stages of that now. Eventually cities will hit "Year Zero" when their fresh water supply is gone and they'll have to outsource it and wars will be fought for it. The poorest nations will suffer on a biblical scale.
