We got a positive test at work. We are Teleworking/quarantine for 2 weeks.

I work very closely with this person. I’m their direct supervisor.

They are shutting down our building for a deep clean. Just got a call from my boss - we are staying home for 2 weeks.

Was able to get a test tomorrow at Patient First. 2-4 day wait. Got one for my daughter too. Waiting for her doctor to call me back to see if she should get th test and if the doc knows where we can get a rapid test.
My wife is out of town tending to medical crisis with her folks. No idea what we will do if I’m positive.

I knew this was coming even though we followed everything we can possibly do including a night crew that cleans our offices daily.

all the time? If that wasn't the policy before, when you go back, you all need to be masked all the time while inside.

And for what it's worth, deep cleaning the building isn't all that necessary. The virus is spread person to person through the air, not on surfaces. Which is why wearing masks is the single most important thing to be doing. Wearing them properly, meaning the nose is always covered. And wearing the right kind of mask, not one of those loose neck gaiter things. I understand they are actually worse than useless, meaning they make the droplets even smaller so they pass through the gaiter, allowing them to spread farther through the air.

However, a lot of people are not 100% faithful about wearing the mask properly all the time.

Do you know which day you most likely were infected? Tests for the first few days following an infection are likely to return a false negative.

When should I be tested?

Sad to say based on the current statistics an exposure is a question of when not if.

I know you have been doing everything you could to avoid COVID.

I hope the test clears you. A real test of the measures.

Ventilation seems to be the key, plus a HEPA filter. Fingers crossed for a negative result!

One key to limiting exposure is controlling your environment and that includes the people in it. Another is airflow and ventilation. How often is fresh air cycled through the building? What's the direction of the airflow? Another is exposure time. How long are individuals in inclosed spaces spending with one another? It does live on surfaces. I just read it lives on plastic for 6.8 hours. And then there's the aerosolization of the toilet plume. Do you have shared or personal toilets? Do they have lids? Close before you flush. Yep, it lives in wastewater and can be spread as such. Don't be placated by cursory contingency plans. This virus is deadly and quite likely more misunderstood than not. I hope you have a clean bill of health. Good luck. ❤ lmsp

While COVID-19 is highly contagious it is possible not to get it when your family members and or co-workers are positive. My significant other was diagnosed with it almost a month ago and I continue to test negative. We were intimate the night before the positive test, share smokes, drinks etc. Somehow I didn't get it.

My boss would make us come to work, unless we tested positives. Doesn't matter if I drove a positive co-worker home. He would make me work unless I failed the test myself.

I went in last week to pick up some stuff and it was a ghost town. Only essential people like facilities and receiving are in our building. I didn’t see anyone
