Supposedly for "Biden-Harris". Male voice, talking about "Biden-Harris". Never said "Joe Biden:, which is unusual, and said "Biden-Harris need a Democrat Senate". Really? Usually we say "Democratic". The overall tone just felt wrong.
So, now I'm wondering, and maybe it's just paranoia, would that donation button lead to a faek GOP fund-raising site? I don't trust those bastards as far as I can throw them.
Call was made from a Farmington, Maine number, according to Spokeo, but who knows what they spoofed, if it is fake.

(34,055 posts)If they want my money, they can send me information. I'll review it on my own time, vetting the organization, and then - if I decide it is warranted - I will make a donation.
The content of the conversaton doesn't set off any more warning bells than any other unsolicited call seeking a donation would.

(6,543 posts)Had no intention, but I do answer the phone, as some of the calls have been from pollsters and many from local candidates ... but they are always good about understanding that I NEVER give money to a caller.
However, if they are fishing, they only need a few to bite.
I've been working with te campaign enough to have the language set off alarm bells

(3,354 posts)Definitely a fake call. Right-wingers always say Democrat instead of Democratic.

(32,610 posts)... would use a correct caller ID , not a fake one.
Whenever I receive a call and there's no Caller ID - I never answer because I know it's SPAM.
So many calls - so much SPAM!
Never answer them - if you do answer you'll go on their "confirmed" list.

(4,723 posts)Due to the nature of my job, I have to answer incoming calls to my cell phone. Most numbers I don't recognize are robocalls offering to lower the interest on my credit card. Good luck with that, as I don't have any credit cards. Or they are from a litany of creditors calling a woman who apparently goes around giving out my number and not paying her bills. I'm not surprised people are running scams pretending to be from presidential campaigns. I'd guess they are running Trump ones as well.

(6,543 posts)"Well, I just don't answer it unless I know them". That's fine, if you don't need to answer the phone from calls that you don't always have (or want to have) on your contacts list. If I can tell they are fake, I don't answer.
