ROMNEY: I Wasn't Winning, SO "I tripped her."

CRAIG ROMNEY: ...And it was down to my wife and my dad over here.

ROMNEY: I tripped her.

CRAIG ROMNEY: And it was kind of in the home stretch in the run there. And she had a slight lead on him. And he said that in that moment, he decided he was going to win that race or he was going to die trying. And you see this fight to the finish, and he went for this -- he gave it everything he had. He gave it a good kick and he beat her in the end. And he did almost die trying, by the way.

He passed out in a lawn chair and we didn't see him the rest of the day... But it's that type of hard work, it's that type of determination, I think, that we need in the White House.

often don't realize that what they have been taught is funny, cute, normal, is actually abusive. Took me 36 years to realize what my parents thought was hilarious was actually emotional abuse. My dad also used to do the 'win at all costs' thing when I was a KID (like even when I was really little) and thought it was the funniest thing on earth when I would cry because he cheated to win. If my mom was around and got mad at him for making me cry, then he'd in turn get mad at ME and call me a baby and tell me it was 'just a joke' and send me to my room for being a 'poor sport'. This happened often from the time I was 4 to about 8 or so. My therapist agrees that my parents are very narcissistic and likely co-dependent. Mitt and Ann are a lot like my parents. So many of the things they talk about doing with their kids are the same thing my parents did - and to listen to their kids talk about it, it sounds like me 10 years ago before I started realizing something wasn't quite right. Add to that Mitt's stature in the church and as a businessman/politician and I doubt any of his family dares question him over anything.

and dead-on! Thank you for that analysis. It's very sad that you and so many of us learn these things from our own painful experiences.

that show how they behave in unguarded moments are much more telling than listening to them give 1000 speeches.

Get obsessed with a meaningless competition, do something stupid, dishonorable, and destructive, get your jollies by having your way, and who cares about the consequences. Yeah - that's SO what we need in the White House.

Just fits what everyone has been saying about him. He's a spoiled, narcissistic sociopath who thinks he's entitled to everything he wants, and could give 2 shits about anyone else, and he has a temper tantrum when he doesn't get his way. And who wants a President who passes out in a lawn chair once he wins the election?? Because this is nothing more than a means to an end with Mitt. This is just another one of his 'races'. I bet the cheat is already set up. Let's just hope the votes can overcome the cheat.

I hope he is having a daily meltdown over the polls. I hope he loses and loses BIG. I'd pay to see the meltdown on that night.

And it really captures the entire ethos of the Romney camp.

I also it is 180 degrees against the ethos of the Democrats and especially of President Obama.

It is however just not sufficient enough.

As a progressive I just cannot find enough to compel me to vote for President Obama.

Yes this post captures entirely the inherent FU mentality of a strikingly philosophically inbred group of weirdly mystic believers in a strange capitalistic kharma machine that only rewards people of merit and lifts them to the top while letting the drifter, grifters, lazy bastards populate the lower 53% of the country. And yes that capitalistic kharma includes extending your foot and driving your daughter in laws face into the lawn if that propels you to the lead of a meaningless family outing because, after all, family is all that matters and if your not teaching your family how to bring another person down in order to get ahead in some meaningless metric then who is going to teach you. The fact that they would relish that story and the story about Seamus shows that they are not just a little bit craven (Ok, ok, a bunch of sick fucks) what it also shows is that they are so far out of touch with normal human concepts of general well being that they have ascended only to level 1.2 of Kholberg's Moral pyramid and basically operate morally at the level of a nine year old. It is all very useful in helping me weigh the options, along with demonic interest in disassembling medicare, social security and other community insurance plans, reigniting a militaristic cold war mentality and breathless desire to start war, and finally a tax regime that will suck even more wealth to tiny tiny number of people who sit at the top of the economic pyramid. And yet kpete as a completely self absorbed progressive this is not enough to compel me to vote for the President with a happy heart. Could you please and find something a little more definitive, along the lines of a smoking gun, and by that I mean an actual smoking gun that shows that he shot someone in the head?

That sums up rethuglicans and the way they run campaigns ... and, if they win,
the way they conduct the affairs of their office perfectly.

Btw, if my FIL had done that to me, I would have found a way to make him unhappy by sundown.
