To all, please read
We are Democrats,,as such, we don't look for excuses. We are who we are. We don't change from political winds,we don't change because we are unsure. We dont change because our fave lost in primaries. We Believe! And we will not be afraid of what we Believe in. And We will March Foward,if need be,,towing our Country behind Us.

5. "we are who we are"
This is so true.
I got into it with my husband the other night. He will vote for Joe, that is for sure. But he was bagging on Democrats for trying to be all things to all people. He was like pick a position and stick to it. I said wait a minute. The Democrats are having to shoulder the burden for both parties, Democratic and Republican. What looks like shifting positions is Dems acting like be the adults in the room. It used to be that political conflict was centered around which side had the better ideas on common issues in order to move the country forward. The common sense Republicans are backing Biden and I suspect there are a lot more of them than even we know. And excuse the fuck out of us for feeling empathy for others, for having feelings and emotions, for shedding tears. Needless to say he didn't say much after that. |

6. I'm a pretty die hard progressive
None of my top three primary picks made it.
At this juncture in history, I say, "So what?" Either you recognize the danger of Trumpism or you do not. Fortunately, I don't personally know a single progressive who is not going all in on Biden. And some of them were people who sat out 2016. (Not that it matters, we're Californians). I truly believe 99% of the people from every wing of the party recognize the existential threat we're facing. 185k dead and counting. I lost a very close friend in April. He was one of the first to go in Hawaii and was featured on PBS, newspapers, and other places in those early days. Yes, there will always be idiot radicals on Twitter. There will always be people who are unhappy. But why focus on them or give them oxygen? Lincoln spoke of Union. He meant it in a somewhat different way, but the underlying dynamics are there. We must fight for the Union against the rising tide of the Last Gasp of the Right. Which is what this is. America is changing. Demographics are changing. The economic reality of the last 40 years is finally breaking. The pandemic is speeding up the recognition of the structural weaknesses we have had for a long time. We can iron out policy later. When Biden is elected, I plan to give him vast leeway. He may not do what I personally think is best, but whatever he does is going to be vastly better. And he has a harder job on his hands. He has to restore an entire democratic government. I'm not going to shitkick or snipe at him. He'll have to fuck up in spectacular fashion to draw my ire. This moment in our history is too important. Let's go kick Trump's ass. |

We can argue about progressive "purity" at a later date.
Right now we need to get the Russian TRAITOR out of the White House. |
