Their are three ways to oust a president. We need a fourth.

1. Vote him/her out of office.

2. Impeachment in the house and conviction in the senate.

3. The 25th Amendment to the Constitution.

We've found that options 2 and 3 are virtually useless in today's circumstance. Will option 1 succeed given that we have a beast in office who will do anything and everything possible to steal the election? We'll see.

But even assuming that we succeed in voting this creature out of office, we have seen that even elections offer us no certainty in ridding ourselves of a monster.

"In order to form a more perfect union," we need a fourth alternative.

What should it be? I don't know. Perhaps a panel of a dozen American Nobel Prize recipients who, by some predetermined means, can step in, debate the issues and reach a decision on whether or not a president is fit to retain office. But something even remotely like that would probably require a constitutional amendment which would have little chance of passing.

In the meantime, were this president to steal another term, or a future president like him to come along, we'd be so, so fucked. And that's why I state that we need a fourth option to rid ourselves of such a possibility.

Suggestions?

(On edit: I see a few posts that have hinted at the obvious. "Hinted," because they don't want a visit from the Secret Service. So let me say this. This is NOT a fourth option. This is DU. We are Democrats. That's not who we are. That's not what we are. Please, don't even joke about it. And if that sounds a bit too pious, let me quote Obama. -- When they go low, we go high.)

we just don't take it seriously. Read American history and it's clear we know how to deal with tyranny, but seem to have lost the stomach for it.

There is no where in case law or explicit language of the law that states that a President cannot be indicted and tried for a crime. There is a shaky, poorly conceived DOJ memo that is laughable at best from a legal standpoint.

The prosecutors chose to call Nixon, an un-indicted co-conspirator and Mueller's team chose to call Trump Individual #1. They could have and should have charged them with the crimes they committed.

The state of NY has plenty to indict on fraud, tax evasion, and other charges simply based on evidence from the Cohen case. They could do it ... but they have not.

A prosecutor needs to stand up and do what is right.

That is scenario number 4.

I can't think of any other option that wouldn't be used against a Democrat down-the-road.

Maybe next election all those that might otherwise sit out in protest over some BS, or who might become complacent when thinking we have it in the bag, will vote. Sure hope so.

The U.S. has the most disgraceful record of people who don't exercise their right to vote among all the Democracies in the world.

Seems that America has sown this shit in the White House. And now, we are all reaping a terrible harvest.

Or participating in one while president He is out.

Obama and Carter managed to avoid committing felonies while president.

Many people avoid committing felonies. And they're not president.

This will apply after we take care of the cop problem and private prison bullshit..and clean out the justice system.

Also if you believe in destroying the government and set about doing that how compatible are you with a Constitution, the rule of law or democracy? Or America?

You aren't.

You are a traitor.

Also demonstration of authoritarian behavior, narcissism dark triad behaviors..

The founding fathers did offer the fourth solution
If every solution fails.

They might have assumed that ethical people would be presidents and that apparently made them short sighted . But they also knew the danger kings presented to democracy too.

So yeah don't mention the 4th way it does not apply here but be honest they thought of it and wrote about it and it was from thier experiences living under the Dominion of kings.

We live in a democracy if we can keep it.
