tweet Barbra Streisand on #paidsickdays? (NYC)
Friends,
Another incredible rapid-response opportunity on paid sick days has appeared. We did it with Susan Sarandon and with Olivia Wilde -- who's game for one more?
Here's the scoop. Today, BARBRA STREISAND met with NYC Council Speaker Christine Quinn to talk about women's health equity. From Politicker: "Ms. Streisand gave a speech discussing unequal treatment women get when it comes to medical care." Paid sick days is all about making sure working people -- and particularly working women -- have decent access to health care and the ability to take care of themselves and their families.
So here's our opportunity: let's tweet at Barbara Streisand and ask her to join us in calling on Speaker Quinn to take action on paid sick days. Adding new high-profile women leaders to the campaign is incredibly important.
Here are some sample tweets -- or write your own. (And if you've got any really good ideas, send 'em to me.)
