Republicans online seem scared

It's not always easy to do but I like to check out Republican discussion boards a few times a week to see what the other side is thinking and feeling. It is also good to see what Democratic "scandals" and attacks the right wing media is cooking up at any given time so I am not caught off guard by sudden crazy claims cropping up. Anyway, last night the impression I got while the DNC was going on was that they are terrified about how well it is going for the Dems. Of course they won't admit that Biden and the Democrats are doing well or that anything about the convention is going to be effective. Instead you need to look at how angry, frustrated, and rambling their posts are. Obviously the more they know they are losing the more hostile and violent they start to sound. Last night the right wing chatter heavily implied panic and that whatever disaster they were predicting for the Dem convention isn't coming to pass.

Most of their rage is coming out as racist attacks against Harris, along with implying that she is "a slut" who slept her way to the top, including speculation that she is sleeping with Biden. But there is talk about how Michelle Obama is fat and lost her looks. There are also claims that the Democrats seem to be in disarray, that no one in the country likes Biden, that less than 1000 people watched the convention last night, that the music at the convention is going to turn off voters (?). And lots and lots of talk about 2016 and Hillary Clinton.

I could give exact quotes but none of that matters and you don't really want to read that garbage anyway. What is important is that the attacks on the Democrats and the convention are all over the place. They are attacking the way people look, the quality of the sound and video, conspriacy theories and middle school level attacks on random people they don't even know. As someone who reguarly monitors the Republican online cesspool I can tell you they are freaked the fuck out right now. Whatever the Democrats are doing is whipping them up into a total panic. We should all feel good that the Democrats seem to be on top of their game right now.

And I think it is going to massively backfire on them. They are trying to win over women but speculating, without any proof, that Harris must be some kind of "slut" because she is successful is going to piss off a lot of women. Instantly dismissing any woman's accomplishments is not going to make any female voter think "good point, I'm going to vote for Trump!". I have aseen a few presidential elections in my day but I have never seen a campaign as severely out of touch as Trump's reelection campaign.

Listening last night to speakers like Cuomo, Bernie, even recordings of Beto and Cory, i could just imagine Rs trying to mimic them next week - they can fake the act but their words are vacuous, empty, imbecilic and lies.

went so smoothly and the visuals were stunning. They thought it was going to be full of tech glitches with people not knowing how to turn on zoom audio.

Can't wait to so what they present next week since just a couple of weeks ago trump was still trying to secure a venue for an in-person, traditional convention.

I think that was the point. Having a popular, successful woman of color attacking Trump was probably all part of the plan to get him and his deplorables to lash out. Seems to be working like a dream.

instead.

It isn't just democratic voters who are turned off by trump and his thugs/cronies/worthless worthies...it's independents, it's former republicans all across the board, and the democrats themselves have opened their arms and welcomed a broader swath of Americans into the fold/Democratic Party, more broader than before (if possible!) due to more and more Americans being disenfranchised by trump and his thugs.

What we see is a splintering of the republican party in plain sight, the dissolving of a major national party into pieces all across the USA. And rightfully so. Any party that literally thinks it can govern w/ 30% of the American population is crazy and and by all means, a minority party (this description 'minority' would infuriate a lot of trump's racist voters!). They only have themselves to blame, and no one else, especially when you see how incompetent trump is, how many Americans he has killed by his incompetence, how partisan he is (some are more 'American' then others, thus all federal aid will go to 'them' instead, etc.

When someone has the hate, the desire to put others in harms' way (including their own party members when they go out to vote), to ignore major issues in this Country (covid 19) simply to win an election, etc. (the list goes on), it's not too damn hard to get the other side all riled up and 'scared', idiots brought it on themselves and no one else did. What's sad about it is that these pedophile supporters
won't be the adult in the room to admit their past thinking was in error.

History has a way of writing itself, even though many have tried to write their own version of it (and failed), and it will tell a tale for future generations of where the great American Dream was hijacked for the benefit of a few wealthy and ignorant people, and that retribution led to many changes in the American election processes.

What I see is lots of them have seen the movie Red Dawn too many times. They see themselves as the high school kids hiding out in the woods and we are the bad guys who have invaded their country. The preppers and ammosexuals are spending every cent they have on guns, ammo and supplies for what they see as a war to reclaim "their" country after Biden wins.

The bottom line is, though, they are just a bunch of keyboard warriors and while they may pull off a few isolated violent incidents, they are no match for the decent people of this country. The first clue is if they were serious they would not be jabbering about it on the internet where every one can see.

And they haven't for years. This is the kind of foot stomping you get when one party's "platform" has devolved into a plea to "vote for us to stop the other guys you don't identify with" and offers nothing real for its constituents.
