So my one puny vote is equal in influence to that of superPACs, corporations, and foreign leaders.

I totally get that the NETANYAHU advertisement is the product of a Rethug PAC, not his or Israel's. But daily it is drilled into my craw how PUNY my one little vote is, with the local radio wingnut station wallpapered with ads from a Fundie minister railing against Libs and even naming OBAMA as who to vote against; and the news reports of the millions the PACs are pouring into an ostensibly secular event (an election).

It’s bad enough that churches are not taxed, and not only (some) wingnut fundamentalist ministers preach POLITICS, not only in their churches but on the airwaves, but (some) Catholic priests preach the single issue of Anti-Choice in explicit political/voting terms despite their church having a ZILLION other social issues in common with the Dem/Choice side.

Does my ONE PUNY vote have the same weight as a FROCKED priest's preaching votes, in the setting of a church, with his frock giving him instant authority, and his role?

Previously, I thought that the IRS rule was that so long as they didn’t advocate a named candidate and stuck to general issues they were O.K., but the local wingnut minister has been naming OBAMA as being “hateful to the Lord.”

If a Mexican president were used in clippings for an advertisement advocating open borders, the wingnut/Minutemen/TeaBagger outrage would be thunderous.

For me the PAC's money and NETANYAHU clippings are about One-person/One-vote. Really, SCotUS, really?!1 (Sputtering)

"One person, one vote"?? What a novel idea. Did you just think that up? 99th_Monkey Sep 2012 #1

be nice to your kids as they will choose your nursing home.

Obama will choose at least one geriatric , and maybe two, SCOTUS replacements who are postponing "retirement" for 2012. Not only give him re-election but give him a mandate!!!
