Ann Romney in Iowa today...Wow...just a lot of Wow. WOW.

“Stop it. This is hard. You want to try it? Get in the ring. This is hard and, you know, it’s an important thing that we’re doing right now and it’s an important election and it is time for all Americans to realize how significant this election is and how lucky we are to have someone with Mitt’s qualifications and experience and know-how to be able to have the opportunity to run this country.”

- Ann Romney, today in Iowa, on Republicans criticizing her husband, Teh Candidate

Yeah, no, seriously. That happened.

"Get in the ring" makes it awesome, but what makes it art isn't when she said "This is hard," but when she said it twice. Then it was art. High art.

Art.

Where I found it: http://talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/2012/09/seems_to_be_going_great.php?ref=fpblg

...with bonus points to Josh Marshall for a truly inspired headline.

Both her and him don't really care about "governing". They want to experience all the "trappings" and pomp and circumstance that goes with the Presidency. A 200-room mansion. Airforce One. Marine One. Tricked-out and fortified limos that go everywhere Air Force One goes. State dinners prepared by some of the best (government) chefs in existence. Access to remarkable florists who plan hundreds of displays. A military who salutes you as you walk by. Trips around the world to meet with the most powerful heads of state. And on and on.

This is why the racist rethugs are forcing us to endure their agonizingly long 4-year head explosion and descent into foaming zombiedom. It goes against the "order of things". How DARE a man who comes from the very race who built the damn White House for "free" as slaves, actually be allowed to occupy it without being one of the "help".

“In all the past debates, he would find me in the audience and after each question, he’d look at me ’cause it was like, ‘Did I do O.K. Ann? Was that O.K.?’” she said. “And I love that because he cares so much. I mean, we have such a good relationship and we have such a strong marriage and I know that he measures himself and how he’s doing by my face and how I think he’s doing, so I know in these next debates it’s going to be very important for me to be sitting in that audience.”

During her 10 minute speech to the crowd, Ann Romney said she was here in Iowa to talk about “the good side” of her husband that “very few people know about.”

“The real measure of a person is not how much money we make, but how we live our lives,” she said.

When someone really is the sort of good person who helps other people, then people know about it. The people he helps know, and the people close to the people he helps know, because his beneficiaries will talk about his goodness with other people.

The fact that Mitt's "good side" has been so hidden for so long suggests that it's rather like an imaginary friend.

Ann Romney Will Inevitably Annoy Voters, Says Mitt Romney
-- Erin Gloria Ryan

Ann Romney's frequently been utilized as a surrogate for her husband in his Presidential campaign, and it's no wonder. She's sweet, friendly, warm, and, most importantly SHE LOOOVES YOUUU WOMEN! But this week, Mittens himself admitted that there is such thing as Too Much Ann Romney, and that if the campaign isn't careful, America could get sick of her.

In yet another bit of surreptitiously captured audio that makes the GOP Presidential nominee sound like a complete prick, Romney can be heard to hear "We use Ann sparingly right now, so that people don't get tired of her."

First of all, if what we're seeing now is restraint in the use of Ann, I'd hate to see what would happen if Romney wasn't concerned that we'd all get tired of her. Would all of the campaign's commercials just feature Ann Romney talking about love in very short sentences? Would the Romney bus be a giant Ann-shaped vehicle? Would Ann just run for President herself? Can I buy Ann Romney action figures with realistic hugging and reassuring hand-patting action? WILL I BE ABLE TO BUY A BIRD SHIRT ACCESSORY FOR MY ANN DOLL?

If Michele Obama said or did even half the things Annie Rmoney has, the right would be labelling her uppity. Maybe only in private, but that's what they'd say.

Send Ann's words to your right wing friends, but attribute them to Michelle. Then see how they respond. After they flip out, respond that you made a mistake ... and that Ann said it.

Bet the stroke out.

50. Queen Ann, you want "hard"?
Thu Sep 20, 2012, 10:24 PM
Sep 2012

You wanna know what "hard" really is? "Hard" is having to give up most of your hard-earned-for-forty-years pension and that of your husband every fucking month for his nursing home care and having to struggle to live on the very "generous" crumbs Medicaid allows you to have every month before it kicks in its share, crumbs that don't cover even basic expenses for the full month And throw in the fact that the husband was only in his late fifties when his dementia began, had to retire early from teaching, and they never got to enjoy the retirement they'd looked forward to for so long. Add in for good measure the fact that most of what they worked and sacrificed for all of the decades of their working lives has been given to the medical-industrial complex for his care, and they still want more and more of it. Nearly forty years of hard work teaching gone down the drain. THAT is hard, Annie dearest. Try doing that, you couldn't even last a couple of days. And if she gets cancer or MS now, she is SCREWED. TOTALLY. Not that you care about that, considering your disdain for "freeloaders" such as teachers, firefighters, police officers, nurses, social workers and all the other drains on the pocketbooks of your husband and his ilk.

Yes, Queen Ann, I'm talking about my mother. And there are plenty of other stories like that in this country, millions of them, of women you claimed ("screamed" to be more accurate) you "loved" at the freak show you call your convention. They know the REAL meaning of the words "this is hard." You don't, and you never will.

Thu Sep 20, 2012, 11:13 PM
Sep 2012

...so you can afford the medicine to keep the chemotherapy treatments you're getting for your cancer from killing you, so you can live until the cancer itself kills you--all because your health insurance WON'T cover the medicine because it's too expensive and will put you over your annual limit...in May. THAT's HARD, Ann. That was the spot my late sister found herself in, and that's what ObamaCare was enacted to prevent. And when your husband wants to repeal the law that would've kept insurance companies from killing my sister, to go back to GOPDoesn'tCare so insurance companies can have their profits, that's a slap in my sister's face, Ann. And I will be DAMNED if I will let your husband and his fuckwad cronies take us back there!!!

No, that's not hyperbole, I don't mean she never had an established career, I mean she NEVER HAD A JOB, EVER. Oh sure, she piddled in some volunteer show-up-if-you-want-to things when her husband was governor, but thats it.
The bitch wouldn't know "hard" if it jumped up and smacked her in her sneering face.

107. Time to bring back Pink's "Dear Mr President"
Fri Sep 21, 2012, 12:18 AM
Sep 2012

"Dear Mr. President"
(feat. Indigo Girls)

Dear Mr. President,
Come take a walk with me.
Let's pretend we're just two people and
You're not better than me.
I'd like to ask you some questions if we can speak honestly.

What do you feel when you see all the homeless on the street?
Who do you pray for at night before you go to sleep?
What do you feel when you look in the mirror?
Are you proud?

How do you sleep while the rest of us cry?
How do you dream when a mother has no chance to say goodbye?
How do you walk with your head held high?
Can you even look me in the eye
And tell me why?

Dear Mr. President,
Were you a lonely boy?
Are you a lonely boy?
Are you a lonely boy?
How can you say
No child is left behind?
We're not dumb and we're not blind.
They're all sitting in your cells
While you pave the road to hell.

What kind of father would take his own daughter's rights away?
And what kind of father might hate his own daughter if she were gay?
I can only imagine what the first lady has to say
You've come a long way from whiskey and cocaine.

How do you sleep while the rest of us cry?
How do you dream when a mother has no chance to say goodbye?
How do you walk with your head held high?
Can you even look me in the eye?

Let me tell you 'bout hard work
Minimum wage with a baby on the way
Let me tell you 'bout hard work
Rebuilding your house after the bombs took them away
Let me tell you 'bout hard work
Building a bed out of a cardboard box
Let me tell you 'bout hard work
Hard work
Hard work
You don't know nothing 'bout hard work
Hard work
Hard work
Oh

How do you sleep at night?
How do you walk with your head held high?
Dear Mr. President,
You'd never take a walk with me.
Would you?

Woman/wife/Republican...whatever. She's horrible.

We all know her husband is a soulless creep, but as someone who's spent her life in the lap of privilege and never working a day in her life, one might think she'd have a modicum of sympathy for those less fortunate.

Nope.

I feel sorry for her horse.
