the message from the scowl and the word "I will never vote for you" and "you're a jackass" just says "I am an angry liberal who hates Romney".

That does not seem like a winnig message to me, any more than we would be convinced by somebody on the other side who said "I am an angry conservative who hates Obama".

The line about the dog may be popular here, but in general I doubt if that dogs hunts.
