There was a 4.1 earthquake in Jamaica this morning

Although clearly mild, it was felt in several parishes. I did not feel it. Folks in St Elizabeth, Manchester, St James, Clarendon and Kingston felt it (I did not).

The Earthquake Unit at the University of the West Indies has confirmed a magnitude 4.1 quake was felt in sections of the island at approximately 9:02 a.m.

The earthquake’s epicenter was 10 km northwest of Santa Cruz, St. Elizabeth, with a focal depth of 18.7 km.

The quake was reportedly felt in St Elizabeth as well as the Half-Way-Tree and Three Miles areas.

I notice that the USGS is showing a 2.9 quake in MoBay.
That differs significantly from UWI's info

Then I saw this at USGS - never seen this before
Note: Official reports of new earthquakes may be delayed

1. I'm glad you're OK, my dear malaise...

4.1 is not terribly significant, except possibly to those closest to it.

2. People called in to radio programs - I heard one man in Manchester

saying his windows and stuff in cupboards shook. I didn't feel a thing. We are way overdue for a big one.
