1. Yes

I saw that.

I love that he pushed back hard on all of the "This is a partial victory for Trump" analyses. He made very clear that Trump lost bigly in every respect.

If we were smart, we'd totally use talking points like this instead of dismissing them, regardless of their unlikeliness.

31. The half-full vs. half-empty glass:

We know what optimists and pessimists say. An engineer says this: The glass is twice as big as it needs to be.

32. As an engineer I would agree but I always leave 50% margin.

So I'd say the glass is perfect and the fullness is nominal.

Has no bearing on states

Biden/Pelosi/Schumer need to put that high on the list of necessary repairs.

11. I'm not sure

That's a Federal DOJ policy, not a state one. Maybe Vance can indict him.

Wouldn't that be ..... interesting.....

4. Of course they can

These are State charges. Nothing prevents it. It just puts the GOP in the position of running a candidate that is under indictment or going with an alternative.

6. Even if Trump is indicted, it would be sealed until way after the election

The norm is always preserved for republicans. It's only ok to break them if it's a democrat (Hillary's email).

14. Cyrus Vance is in charge of it and I see no reason why he would do that.

He is not beholden to any DOJ protocols.

9. It is only a victory for Trump in one very specific sense - the election.

It is terrible for Trump in every other way, but there is no way this is going to happen before the election. Even if the NY grand jury find Trump did anything illegal it will be appealed and not come out til after the election.

Still a conviction by the SDNY would look really really bad before the election and their decision COULD highlight some of the findings in the taxes...but that would be very quick work they would need to do.

22. I have no idea - anyone else know???

I do know that if he were indicted before the election that would be terrible to his reelection strategy. Not with his rabid base obviously but with those who are on the edge (of which I would guess is about 10-20% of his support)

But also knowing Trump...he knows ALL the delay tactics possibly known to man. He's built his entire business empire on delaying lawsuits so if there is a way he will find it.

16. But it's swinging back and forth over his neck like a pendulum.

I don't think it helps him on the election.

The mere fact that he's so enraged in itself achieves so much, because he makes mistakes when he's this angry.
