I kept my doctor and my plan! Got that? And, my family saved at least $2,500 dollars a year because two of my sons were able to remain on my insurance until they were 26. So shut up about the only thing you think Obama lied about, because he didn't lie.

1. I had the opposite problem

About 10 years ago, the company I worked for switched plans within the same insurance company. I got a referral to a specialist from my general practitioner in November. The soonest I could get an appointment was for mid January (Friday the 13th, no kidding) of the next year.

Well, I got there early, did all the paperwork, and waited. After a while, the lady in front said that the insurance would not honor the referral or the doctor - even though the doctor was in-plan. It was because the plan was switched, my referral and my appointment was cancelled.

The insurance company did not let me keep my doctor. My employer did not let me keep my plan.
